Tanning Details

Besides Feis Tan, another choice, available online and/or at ULTA stores is Fake Bake/Flawless Darker.  If your dancer has skin sensitivities, please email Anne for alternative suggestions.

The tanning acts as “make up” for the legs to ensure that legs are visible on stage from a distance. All dancers competing at both a solo champion level and traditional set level for the Oireachtas should use tanner.

We recommend washing/exfoliating and then applying several coats 2 nights before competing. Then a rinse the following day (no washcloth/pat dry) and moisturize.  The following night, repeat the process--wash with soap (do not exfoliate though) and then reapply several coats.  Most dancers do not rinse the next day (morning of competition), but you could and then add a coat if necessary or moisturize.

Traditional set dancers Under 7, 8, 9, and 10 only need to use 1-2 coats of Feistan or FakeBake 1-2 nights before, so you may want to share. It can be applied with a sponge mitt or sponge applicator/paintbrush included in your purchase of the tanning product.  It is very easy to apply and dries quickly.

Teams--All team dancers will wear black tights except for our Under 8's who will wear poodle socks. If you have any questions, please let me know.
